How It Works
Unlike a laser's single wavelength, IPL delivers a broad spectrum of light that targets both brown pigment (melanin) and red pigment (hemoglobin) at once. Pigmented spots absorb the energy, darken slightly, and flake away over the following days. Redness and small vessels fade as the treated vessels are reabsorbed. Each session takes 20–30 minutes for the full face.
What to Expect
A cooling gel is applied, and the IPL handpiece is glided across the skin delivering bright flashes — most patients describe a warm snap, very tolerable without numbing. Afterward, brown spots typically darken to a "coffee ground" appearance and flake off over 5–10 days. Mild redness fades within hours. Makeup is fine the next day. Sun protection before and after treatment is essential.
How Many Sessions?
